emc paint and gasket questions
Joel,got a couple quick questions.
When you built the coffin box, where did you get the gasket material? I am finishing up a leaning post with a 230 quart cooler (Pics to follow) and am looking for a good gasket seal.
Second Question, I am prepping my twinvee for paint. Are there websites photos of boats painted with EMC paint. I was hoping to find one and haven't had any luck. The online color chart is less that perfect. paint is great just need real world examples.

Hi Todd,
I bought the gasket from a local marine surplus warehouse. It was pretty thick, but worked nicely. I look forward to seeing the cooler you have made
I have pictures, and there are a lot more at the EMC facebook page. What color are you looking for?
Re: emc paint and gasket questions
I'll start a thread on my leaning post.
I am all over the board on colors. I like the sky blue and the seafoam or an orange. I used the sea foam on my fs18. On my Twin vee I want to do the sides the console and new post. just can't decide on colors. I check the EMC Facebook page but didn't see any orange. I sent them. a message and they resonded that they didn't have any photos of that color. They did say that their are set up to mix any awlgrip or dupont color code.

Re: emc paint and gasket questions
Yeah, they can match just about any color you can find. orange, yellow, dark colors, all take a thicker application in order to cover and hide. In the end your going to be the only one to impress, so go with what you really want.
the color you choose will determine the best color primer to use. in general the white primer covers quicker, but the grey is nice for sanding and may be better for some of the darker colors.

Awesome. Hope you had a great trip. I'm going to figure out everything for my next order. I thought I had enough activator and reducer but it looks like that will be on the list too. I am still working on the boat so it will be a week or two before I order. It didn't help having to buy replacement freediving fins last week! My hobbies are expensive lol.

The only thing better than being in a boat is being in the water, one breath with speargun in hand!
