Is that a CS25, or something else?

Very cool. I like the console farther forward for some reason. Is it "like" some other hull?

console is definitely coming forward, and the transom is not complete yet.

I expect it will run very similar to all the other 23'-25' center consoles that share the same bottom characteristics (24 degree deadrise, max beam of 8'6"). This hull will be bit lighter. 24 degree deadrise. I also added a small pad/flat on the bottom. The chines are a little wider than typical for this size boat.

New boat project CCSF25.5 - build thread NHTjJReYMhRAXuMjVSCUqci3_FLQgN9cxbCcCH08Cyw=w957-h249-no

more progress.  Bracket, chine fender, strakes, and other details added.

Fuel options will be two wing tanks or a single center tank. Wing tank option will allow for a lot of centerline room for storage and even a step down inside the console.

I hope to get started building one of these in the net month or two. Construction method is not 100% decided at his point. I will probably build my first one by sheathed strip (wood core).

Nice! Are you doing the CAD work? I need to learn more about that.

Except that leaning post looks like a beach chair on a picnic table tongue You need to see my buddy Raymond.

No, I have an engineer partner I am working with. I have the software and knowledge, but the not the drafting skills to do a quality job. If I were younger, with less constraints on my time, drafting would be something I would pour myself into. I "missed the boat" on that skill set Smile Maybe when kids are older, i will jump back into it.

Haha, Yeah Very Happy He is true naval architect/engineer, but not a fisherman. I will certainly consult Raymond when the time comes!

Joel, I really like the look of that boat. It looks fast. I look forward to seeing some more information about the boat, especially the Transom design. When are the plans going to be completed?

Looking great. I had a 23' boat with a >20 degree deadrise and an 8'6" beam once, and LOVED IT! Just as a design note, I truly believe that the prow of my boat (and yours, Joel) is deeper than most boats of that ilk, and contributes significantly to the ride. When putting it up on a trailer, the prow stuck down more than most boats.

HI Todd. We are working on the jig and buildingnotes now, so I would guess we are a week or so out from offering plans. The jig on this boat is very nice, we are investing more time into the jig so that there will be little "torture" to achieve a fair hull from the the outset. Best way to end fair is to start fair Smile

Ask your questions whenever you like, the transom and bracket is an interesting aspect of this boat. Its designed to be built with marine plywood and there are two pontoon size options for single or twins

loved that boat! and yes it sure hit the trailer hard at the bow Smile My trailer needed a special bent cross member so it would fit. This boat is a fair bit larger at the chine than my SC23. My seacraft did inspire a couple design items in this boat; the sheer line and the keel pad. Also liked the looks of straight lifting strakes (although on the CS23 they are steps - the opposite design) they look alike.

Jig design is finished, now putting together the plans. We spent a lot of time on the jig, its going to be a fantastic tool for the builder. We have 25 drawings for the jig alone, describing in detail each mold, the assembly and nesting - we even include a roll over cradle Smile

Sure Larry, no problem to have more, there is room. Twin 200's will burn about 14 gph, so 120 is enough for a Bahamas trip. 2x75 gallon wing tanks might be a good option for a boat that will be used often for long runs.

Downside of wing tanks is you can't fill just one for all the time you don't want to haul around a ton of fuel.

I suppose if a builder really wanted, they use 2 centerline tanks like I had in my seacraft, that was a great setup

Looks good Joel. Good luck with the build, can't wait to see the finish boat.
