That this will be a total beast. Will take a lot to get through that hull.

Re: New boat project CCSF25.5 - build thread
a couple more hours today. The last little strips filling in and around where the strakes end take some time to shape. Got the first side strip on so that I can start running the strips for the chine. The chine strips run out over-top the sides, so the first side strip is used to trim the chine strips. The chine strips are douglas fir. The douglas fir is harder than WRC and I want extra compression strength on the chine.
Looks like Im going to run out of strip before I run out of boat Will need to order at least a couple more boards.

Very cool. Working like you planned? Any opportunities for improvement identified yet.

Yeah, will use a plane and fairing board to smooth it all out before fiberglass.

Running douglas fir strips on the chine and closing up the gaps at the bow.

Bottom is just about stripped, didn't have much time to put into this project this week.

Oh yeah, just a little
Re: New boat project CCSF25.5 - build thread
took a planer to the chines. Just a few more little strips on each side and I can start fairing the bottom.
It would be interesting to build one of these in foam core. Even though its a lot more expensive, it can be planked and shaped a lot quicker.

Looks great Joel. That thing has to be stiff as heck

Got the bottom closed up, the last few strips were not very hard at all to shape, they just took time.
Shaped the keel and chine a little more, then gave it a sanding. Next is to fair it all out before glassing.

That looks great. That is a sharp entry! Should cut a slice out of a wave nicely.

Its crazy to me that the Google Image tags work for some and not for others, and sometimes they work or don't for the same people! Very frustrating,

Hosted a new way.....
Last picture shows a first past of fairing to fill lows. I will do a little more of this filling before glassing.

bottom is just about where I want it, now to strip the sides.
So far I have used about 1.5 gallon of epoxy to fill the strip gaps, not too bad.

Re: New boat project CCSF25.5 - build thread
Looking Good Joel. Not long now! What was the thought with not bringing the lower strake all the way to the bow?
